Why I started Brand Builder Co

I live in Wellington, Florida. Around here you can't drive five minutes without passing a work truck — roofers, HVAC guys, plumbers, electricians, remodelers. Most of them are excellent at the actual work. Show up on time, do it right, clean up after themselves. And a lot of them are losing jobs to companies that are worse at the job but better at being found and easier to reach.

That gap bothered me for years before I did anything about it. I'd talk to an owner who was booked out through word of mouth and ask what happens when the phone slows down. The answer was almost always the same: buy some leads, hope for the best, complain about the leads. Meanwhile their website was five years old, built by a cousin or a template, and it didn't tell a homeowner a single reason to pick them. Half the time the contact form went to an email nobody checked.

Then there's the missed calls. This is the part that still gets me. A guy on a roof at 2pm physically cannot answer the phone. The homeowner with water coming through the ceiling doesn't wait — they call the next company on the list. That job was already won. It just went somewhere else because nobody was there to catch it.

So I started Brand Builder Co to build the boring, unglamorous stuff that fixes both problems. A website that's actually built to turn a click into a booked job instead of just looking like a brochure. Automatic text-back so a missed call still gets a response in seconds. A review system that keeps new five-star reviews coming in without anyone remembering to ask. Simple campaigns you can fire off at your old customers when the schedule gets thin. Local SEO so you show up when somebody nearby searches.

I also wanted to do it without the agency runaround, because that's the other half of why the trades give up on marketing. Big retainers. Vague reports full of impressions and reach. Account managers who've never talked to a homeowner in their life. Twelve-month contracts that lock you in before you've seen a single result.

That's why it's $297 a month and no contracts. If it's not putting jobs on your calendar, you should be able to walk, and me knowing that keeps me honest. It also means I have to build things that work fast instead of things that look good in a deck.

I'm not going to pretend this is complicated. It's not. It's a good website, fast follow-up, steady reviews, and showing up in local search. The reason it works is that most of your competitors are doing none of it — and the ones beating you right now are doing some of it badly.

If you're doing great work and still feel invisible online, that's a fixable problem. It's the only problem I work on.
